What’s great and what’s not
The location is perfect,, with most attractions accessible by walking! Supermarkets and restaurants are just around the corner, making it very convenient for personal needs.
The man at reception was not friendly, which left a sour impression despite the cleaning staff being super welcoming.

Request a room away from the street for a quieter experience, especially if you're sensitive to noise at night.

this place was a disaster! rooms were pitch dark, majorly uncomfortable, and the staff acted like they were doing me a favor. I asked for a second blanket, and they barely moved. I expected at least a complimentary upgrade for all the trouble while I was there, but I guess I’m not special enough for that. just couldn’t leave a good review with all the chaos!

Hostal Montaloya is excellently located right next to the Tirso de Molina metro station, with many of Madrid's major attractions within easy walking distance. The triple room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and comfortable, complete with a mini-fridge. Staff were responsive and efficient during check-in and check-out, contributing to a smooth stay. Overall, it was a good value for money, with convenience and accessibility at the forefront.
Street noise could be bothersome at night.

It was just a smart choice for a swift stopover in Madrid with good price-quality ratio. The triple room was spacious and clean, which I really appreciated after a long day of exploring. Make sure to ask for a room with a window that opens to get some natural light.

The lively atmosphere around the hostal added to the charm. I enjoyed breakfast at a nearby café, which was a delightful start to my days exploring the city.

Superior Queen Room lacked natural light due to being below street level, creating a musty ambiance. AC over the bed carried an unpleasant smell, suggesting neglect, detracting from the overall comfort.

Had a great stay with friends! The location is amazing—just a minute from the metro at Tirso de Molina, making exploring places like Calle de Alcala and Centro Deportivo Municipal la Elipa super easy. The triple room was nice and clean. It had a mini-fridge. Perfect for our snacks and drinks!
One drawback was the noise. being on the first floor, we struggled to sleep, especially on weekend nights when the city was really lively.

It was just a nice choice for a short layover in Madrid with good price value. The reception was helpful before my arrival with travel details. Request a room on a higher floor for less noise at night.

The double room was small but clean, with hot water and basic amenities. The location is a big plus, just a short walk to Atocha train station. I loved that it had a fridge to keep drinks cold after a day of exploring! However, the noise on weekend nights was pretty bad, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
